1 Corinthians 1

WET VERSION

CHAPTER 1

1

FROM Paul, who, as God [the Self-existent] wills, is called as an ambassador of Jesus the Anointed, and Sosthenes our brother:

2

Tohand symbolGod’s church at Corinth — those made holy, who are under Jesus the Anointed, and called “saints” — with all those, in every place, who seek the assistance of the Holy Spirit, the Name [Emissary] of Jesus the Anointed, the Self-existent [the Son of man], of both of us:

4

I always thank my God [the Self-existent] for you because of God’s grace which was given to all of you under Jesus the Anointed,

5

that, by Him, you are made rich in everything — in all your utterances and in all knowledge,

6

authenticating what we testified about Jesus the Anointed —

7

so much that you are second to none in any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for the revelation of our Sovereign Master, Jesus the Anointed,

8

who, also, will establish you to the end, so leftBracket symbol that you will be rightBracket symbol blameless in the day He appears.

9

God [the Self-existent] is trustworthy; He called you into partnership with His Son, Jesus the Anointed, our Sovereign Master.

10

Now, in the name [as spokesperson] of our Sovereign Master, Jesus the Anointed,  I urge you, brothers, that all of you agree in what you say, that there be no divisions among you, and that you be united in mind and in the way you see things.

11

Members of Chloe’s household have reported to me that there is rivalry among you;

12

that each of you says, “I am for Paul,” “I am for Apollos,” “I am for Cephas” or “I am for Jesus the Anointed.”

13

Is the Anointed divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or, was sacred washing performed on you in the name [on the authority] of Paul?

14

I thank God [the Self-existent] that I did not perform sacred washing on anyone of you except Crispus and Gaius,

15

so, no one can say that I performed sacred washing in my name [on my authority]

16

I remember that I performed sacred washing on the household of Stephanas also; beyond that, I don’t know if I performed sacred washing on anyone else.

17

his is because the Anointed [the Self-existent - the Son of man] did not send me to perform sacred washing, but to propagate the good news – not with verbal wisdom, as that will render the cross of the Anointed [the Self-existent - the Son of man] impotent.

18

To us who have been rescued from perdition, the preaching of the cross is God’s power, though to those who are perishing, it is illogical.

19

It is written, “I will neutralize the wisdom of philosophers and violate the understanding of intellectuals.”

20

Where are philosophers now? Where leftBracket symbol are rightBracket symbol  scholars? Where are the world renowned intellectuals? Has God [the Self-existent] not made the world’s wisdom vacuous?

21

Since, in God’s judgment, the world, through human wisdom, did not know God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit], it pleased Him to rescue the believers from perdition  through a preaching that is considered illogical by men:

22

The Jews want to see miracles and the Greeks are after wisdom,

23

yet what we preach is the Anointed [the Self-existent - the Son of man]  leftBracket symbol who was rightBracket symbol  crucified; to the Jews, it is a temptation to descend into idolatry; to the Greeks, it is foolishness;

24

but to those who are called - Jews and Greeks - Jesus the Anointed,   leftBracket symbol who was crucified rightBracket symbol , is the power and the wisdom of God [the Self-existent].

25

 (Whenever God [the Self-existent] does something, He may seem to be foolish, but He is wiser than man; and He may seem to be weak, but He is stronger than man.)

26

This is evident in your calling, brothers, how that not many  considered wise by the world, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

27

Rather, God [the Self-existent] chose unwise people of the world to shame the wise and the weak people of the world to shame the mighty;

28

and the lowly ones of the world — people that are scorned, in fact, that are not given recognition — He chose, to derecognize those who are given recognition;

29

so that no human being should overrate himself before Him.

30

So, you who are under Jesus the Anointed (through whom God [the Self-existent] gave us  wisdom, uprightness, holiness and redemption) belong to Him,

31

so that, in line with what was written, “Anyone who wants to boast should boast of the Self-existent [the Son of man].”
