1 Thessalonians 1
WET VERSION
CHAPTER 1
FROM Paul, Silvanus and Timothy: To the church of the Thessalonians, inside God the Father [the Self-existent] and the Self-existent [the Son of man], Jesus the Anointed. Grace and peace
be multiplied
to you.
We always thank God [the Self-existent] for all of you, including you constantly in our prayers.
We recall, in the presence of our God and Father, your work of faith and labor of love for, and enduring hope in, our Sovereign Master, Jesus the Anointed,
knowing your election by God [the Self-existent], dear brethren.
Our good news did not come to you in words only, but also with power, with holy spirit [the breath of the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit] and with much assurance: You know what kind of men we were among you for your benefit.
You became imitators of us and of the Self-existent [the Son of man], when, in spite of severe persecution, you took the message with joy
brought about
by holy spirit [the breath of the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit].
As a result, you became a role model to all believers in Macedonia and Achaia,
in that the Self-existent’s [the Son’s] message rang out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia –
news of
your faith in God [the Self-existent] spread abroad to every place – so, we don’t need to say anything about you to them, as
they themselves testified to us what kind of reception we had from you: How you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God [the Self-existent],
and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead — Jesus, who rescues us from the impending wrath.
