FROM Paul, Silvanus and Timothy: To the church of the Thessalonians, inside God [the Self-existent], the Father, and the Sovereign Master, Jesus the Anointed. Grace and peace leftBracket symbolbe multipliedrightBracket symbol to you.

 We always thank God [the Self-existent] for all of you, including you constantly in our prayers.

We recall, in the presence of our God [the Self-existent] and Father, your work of faith and labor of love for, and enduring hope in, our Sovereign Master, Jesus the Anointed,

 knowing your election by God [the Self-existent], dear brethren.

Our good news did not come to you in words only, but also with power, with the holy spirit [hallowed breath] - the breath of the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - and with much assurance: You know what kind of men we were among you for your benefit.

You became imitators of us and of the Sovereign Master, when, in spite of severe persecution, you took the message with the joy leftBracket symbolbrought aboutrightBracket symbol by the holy spirit [hallowed breath] - the breath of the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit.

 As a result, you became a role model to all believers in Macedonia and Achaia,

in that the message of the Sovereign Master rang out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia – leftBracket symbolnews ofrightBracket symbol your faith in God [the Self-existent] spread abroad to every place – so, we don’t need to say anything about you to them, as

they themselves testified to us what kind of reception we had from you: How you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God [the Self-existent],

 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead — Jesus, who rescues us from the impending wrath.
