CHAPTER 1
SOLOMON son of David, received divine help during his reign; the Self-existent, his God, exalted him highly.
Then, Solomon, having conferred with all Israel including the commanders of thousands and hundreds, judges and every leader in all Israel - heads of the families - went with the whole lot of them to the shrine at Gibeon (Although David had brought the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim to the tent he erected for it in the habitation of prosperity - Jerusalem, the sacred tent [the sanctuary – holy dwelling] which Moses the servant of the Self-existent had constructed in the wilderness was still there. The bronze altar that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur, had made, he had also placed before the sacred tent [the sanctuary - holy dwelling] of the Self-existent; and Solomon with all the people consulted it) to the bronze altar before the Self-existent, at the sacred tent [the sanctuary - holy dwelling], and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
That night, God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] appeared to Solomon and said to him: “Ask whatever you want Me to give you.”
Solomon said to God: “You have shown unequaled mercy to my father, David, in making me king in his place.
The Self-existent, the Mighty, let Your promise to my father, David, be established. Since You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth,
grant me wisdom and knowledge so that I may lead these people; who can judge these great people of Yours?”
God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] said to Solomon, “Since this was in your heart, and you have not requested riches, wealth, glory or the life of those who hate you, and long life, but have requested for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king,
wisdom and knowledge are hereby given to you. I will also give you riches, wealth and glory, which none of the kings who ever lived before you had nor will any of the kings after you.”
From the shrine that was in Gibeon in front of the sacred tent [the sanctuary – the holy dwelling], Solomon went to the habitation of prosperity - Jerusalem - and reigned over Israel.
Solomon accumulated one thousand, four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen. He stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in the habitation of prosperity - Jerusalem.
He made silver and gold as common in the habitation of prosperity - Jerusalem - as stones, and cedar as abundant as sycamore in the districts.
Solomon’s horses came from Egypt in Kue. The king’s traders would get them at the going price.
A chariot was imported from Egypt for fifteen pounds of silver and a horse for about four pounds. In the same way, they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of Aram [Syria] at their expense.
