FROM the elder: To my dear friend, Gaius, whom I love under the Truth [the Self-existent - the Son of man].

My dear friend, I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in good health as your soul prospers. 

I was very glad when some brothers came and testified about your commitment to the Truth [the Self-existent - the Son of man] – how you live your life under the Truth [the Self-existent - the Son of man]. 

I have no greater joy than this: To hear that my children live their lives under the Truth [the Self-existent - the Son of man].

My dear friend, you faithfully do whatever you do for the brothers – and to strangers –

and these havetestified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey as a man of God [the Self-existent] should do, 

since they set out for the sake of His [the Self-existent’s] Name [Emissary]  - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - collecting nothing from foreign nationals. 

Therefore, we ought to host such men so that we can be co-workers with the Truth [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit].

I wrote something to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be treated as the head among them, does not regard us. 

This is why, if I come, I will remind him of the works he is doing: Slandering us with malicious words. He is not even satisfied with that! He not only refuses to accommodate the brothers whom we gave note , himself, but he stops those who want to do so and expels them from the church.

My dear friend, do not imitate bad things, but good. The one who does good is of God [the Self-existent]; the one who does evil has not seen God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit]. 

Demetrius, however , has a good testimony from everyone and from the Truth [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] Himself. We also testify of him. You know that our testimony is true.

I have many things to write but I don’t want to write to you with pen and ink.
