WET VERSION
CHAPTER 1
IN the beginning, God [the Self-existent], created the heaven and the earth.
It happened that the earth became formless and devoid of living things and darkness
came
on the surface of the deep:
so
, the
Spirit [Emissary/Representative] of God [the Self-existent] - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - hovered over the waters.
Then God [the Self-existent] saidto Him
, “Let there be light.” Accordingly, light came about.
God [the Self-existent] viewed the light; it was good. So, He separated it from darkness.
He called the light “Day” and the darkness “Night.” Evening came and then morning, making
the first day.
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “Let there be a firmament in the middle of the waters and let it separate waters from waters.”
Like that, God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] brought about the firmament, separating waters which were under the firmament from waters which were above the firmament. It was so good!
God [the Self-existent] called the firmament, “Sky.” Evening came and then morning, making
the second day.
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place and let the dry land appear.”
God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] called the dry land, “Earth”; and the gathering together of waters, He called “Seas.” God [the Self-existent] viewed them; they were good!
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “Let the ground bring forth grass, herbs yielding seeds and fruit trees yielding fruits of diverse kind, including those containing seeds.”
The ground brought forth grass, herbs yielding seeds of diverse kind and trees yielding fruits, whose fruits contain seeds, of diverse kind. God [the Self-existent] viewedthem
; they were good.
Evening came and then morning,
making
the third day.
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “Let there be lights in the firmament – the sky – to divide the day from the night; they shall be for signs, seasons, days and years:
they shall be lights in the firmament to give light to
the earth.”
God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] brought about atwo great lights - greater light to rule the day and lesser light to rule the night - and the stars.
God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] set them in the firmament to give light
to
the earth,
to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God [the Self-existent] viewed
them
; they were good.
Evening came
and then morning,
making
the fourth day.
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “Let waters bring forth, abundantly, moving creatures that have life and fowl that may fly above the ground in the firmament.”
God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] brought about great whales and creatures which move, which the waters brought forth abundantly, of diverse kind, and winged fowls of diverse kind. God [the Self-existent], viewing them and seeing that they were good,
blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the waters and let fowls multiply on earth.”
Evening came and then morning, making
the fifth day.
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “Let the ground bring forth creatures of diverse kind - cattle, reptiles and wild animals.”
God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] brought about awild animals of the earth of diverse kind, cattle of diverse kind and reptiles of diverse kind. God [the Self-existent] viewed them
; they were good.
Then God [the Self-existent] said, “?Let us make man in our image – just like us. They shall have dominion over the fish of the sea, fowl of the air, cattle, all the earth and every reptile on earth.”
Like that, God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] brought man into existence, in His image – He created him in the image of God [the Self-existent]; He created them male and female.
God [the Self-existent], then, blessed them: “Be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fishes of the sea, fowls of the air, and all living things which move on earth.”
God [the Self-existent] said further, “I have given you every herb which bears seed on all the earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed; they shall be food for you.”
To all the beasts of the earth, all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground – everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food.
God [the Self-existent] reviewed everything that He [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] made and certified it as “very good.” Evening came and then morning, making
the sixth day.
