Hebrews 1
WET VERSION
CHAPTER 1
LONG ago, God [the Self-existent] spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in diverse ways.
In these last days, He has spoken to us by
His
Son, whom He has appointed Heir of all things and by whom He made the world.
He is the shining Glory [Splendor] of the Self-existent, the exact expression of His nature, and by His powerful word, He sustains all things. After making purification for sins
with His blood
, He sat down by the side of
the Majesty [the Self-existent] in heaven, to the right;
and so became higher in rank than celestial-messengers, having inherited a Name [an Ambassador-in-residence/Emissary] - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - who is higher in rank than them.
To which celestial-messenger did He ever say, ‘You are My Son; today I become Your Father’ or, ‘I will be his Father and he will be My Son’?
Also, when He [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] was bringing the Firstborn into the world, He [the Self-existent] said, “Let all messengers of God worship Him.”
In the case of celestial-messengers,
what the scriptures
say is: “Who made His celestial-messengers wind and His ministers a flame of fire”;
but
concerning
the Son,
it is written
: “Your throne, God, is eternal; the staff of Your authority is a staff of justice.
Your love for uprightness and hatred for wickedness are the reasons God [the Self-existent], Your God, anointed You with oil of gladness alongside Your Fellow.”
It is also written
concerning the Son
, “Master, in the beginning, You established the earth, the skies are also the works of Your hands;
these
will perish, but You remain: They will all wear out like clothing
and You will roll them up like a cloak; they will be changed like a robe. But, You remain the same; Your years will never end.”
To which of the celestial-messengers has He ever said, ‘Sit by My side, to the right, until I make Your enemies submit to You’?
Are they not all ministering spirits dispatched to attend to those who will ultimately be rescued from perdition?
