Hosea 1
WET VERSION
CHAPTER 1
WHEN the Self-existent [the Holy Spirit] began to speak by Hosea, He first said to Hosea, “Go, marry a wife of the adulterous children, seeing that the land has committed great adultery – they have abandoned the Self-existent.”
He went and married Gomer the daughter of Diblaim who took in and gave birth to a son.
The Self-existent [the Holy Spirit] said to him, “Call him ‘God [the Self-existent] will disperse,’ because, very soon, I [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] will punish the house of Jehu for the blood that Jehu shed at ‘the land God [the Self-existent] will disperse’ and terminate the kingdom of Israel [the northern kingdom].
That time, I will render the people of Israel [the northern kingdom] in the dale of ‘the land God [the Self-existent] will disperse’ powerless.”
She took in again and gave birth to a daughter. God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] said to him, “Call her ‘No- mercy’ because I [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] will no more have mercy on the house of Israel [the northern kingdom]; I will utterly drive them away from their land.
However, I [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] will have mercy on the house of Judah [the southern kingdom]: I will save them because of their loyalty to the Self-existent, their God; not by bow, sword, battle, horses nor horsemen.”
After she weaned ‘No- mercy,’ she took in again and gave birth to a son.
Then God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] said, “Call him ‘Not My people,’ because you [Israel, the northern kingdom] are not My people and I [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] will not be your God.
All the same, the number of the children of Israel [the northern kingdom] shall still be innumerable as the sand of the sea. At that time, in the very place that it was declared to them, ‘You are not My people,’ it shall be declared to them, ‘You are the sons of the living God.’
At that time, the children of Judah [the southern kingdom] and the children of Israel [the northern kingdom] shall be gathered together. They shall appoint a captain - king, head, ruler or principal – for themselves and come up out of the land of their captivity: The end of ‘the land God [the Self-existent] will disperse’ shall be great.
