WET VERSION

CHAPTER 1

1

JAMES, a servant of God [the Self-existent] and of the Master, Jesus the Anointed: To the twelve tribes in the dispersion. Greetings.

2

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you fall into different kinds of trials,

3

knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

4

Only let endurance carry out its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing.

5

Now, if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God [the Self-existent]. He is generous with wisdom and does not taunt. He will give him.

6

Only let him ask in faith — without doubting. The doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

7

Such a person should not expect to receive anything from God [the Self-existent]

8

An indecisive man is unpredictable in all he does.

9

The brother of humble circumstances should rejoice that he is in high position,

10

but the one who is rich in that he is the one that is low, because he will pass away like a flower in the field:

11

as soon as the sun rises with its scorching heat, it dries up the grass; its flower falls off and its beautiful outlook is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will work himself to death.

12

A person who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the trophy of Life that the Master has promised to those who love Him.

13

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone;

14

each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is lured or enticed.

15

After lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin grows fully, it gives birth to death.

16

Don’t be deceived, my dearly beloved brothers,

17

whatever is good and perfect is a gift from above — from the Father of lights [the Self-existent]; He is not inconsistent or unstable.

18

He willingly chose to give birth to us [wash us] by the message of handthe Truth [the Self-existent - the Son of man] so that we would be the first set of those created by the Truth [the Self-existent - the Son of man].

19

My dearly loved brothers, understand this: Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to get angry,

20

for an angry man cannot live the right life required by God [the Self-existent].

21

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and evil, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to rescue you from perdition,

22

and be doers of it, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

23

If anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his face in a mirror:

24

He looks at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

25

But anyone who reads the perfect law that gives freedom, and does so consistently, not reading and forgetting, but practicing what he reads, will be blessed in what he does.

26

Anyone who does not control his tongue, yet thinks he is religious, is deceiving himself — his religion is useless.

27

Pure and incorruptible religion before God and the Father is this: To look after suffering orphans and widows and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
