CHAPTER 1

“I [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit], the Oracle of the Self-existent, have leftBracket symbolshown that IrightBracket symbol love you, yet you say, ‘How have you shown that You love us?’ Was not Esau, Jacob’s twin brother? Yet I loved Jacob

 and hated Esau; I laid his country – his heritage – waste for the dragons leftBracket symbol to inhabit rightBracket symbol .

Edom [the country of the descendants of Esau, Jacob’s twin brother] may be saying, ‘Although we have been demolished, we will build the desolate places,’ they shall build, but I [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] will throw down; they shall call them, ‘A territory of evildoers’ and ‘people against whom the Self-existent always has indignation.’

You shall witness it and say, ‘Everyone in Israel, magnify the Self-existent.’

 ‘A son respects his father and a servant, his master,’ the Self-existent, the God of armies, asks, ‘If I leftBracket symbol am rightBracket symbol  a Father, where is My respect? Also, if I leftBracket symbol am rightBracket symbol  a Sovereign Master, where is My fear? – you priests who despise Myhand symbolName [Emissary] - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - and are asking: How have we despised Your Name [Emissary]?

You offer polluted bread on My altar, yet you ask: How have we polluted it? You polluted leftBracket symbol it rightBracket symbol  in that you despise the table of the Self-existent [the Holy Spirit].

If you offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? If you offer the lame and the sick, is it not evil? Offer it now to your governor; will he be pleased with you or accept you?’

 Now, please, beg God [the Self-existent] that He will be gracious to you - this is a thing that you can leftBracket symbol easily rightBracket symbol  do - will He regard you? (This is a declaration of the Self-existent, the God of armies.)

leftBracket symbol Hear also, what the Self-existent, the God of armies, says rightBracket symbol , Who among you locks himself in without a reason? You do not offer sacrifice to Me without a reason either! The Self-existent says, I don’t need you, I will not accept offering from you either.

From sunrise to sunset, My hand symbolName [Emissary] - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - shall be great among foreign nationals: For that, incense and pure offerings shall be offered to leftBracket symbolHimrightBracket symbol in every place. (This is the declaration of the Self-existent, the God of armies.)

However, you have hurt Him in saying: The table of the Self-existent has been desecrated; the fruit and the meat there are not to be respected.

You also say: What sort of trouble is this? - and you disrespect it (this is the declaration of the Self-existent), bringing the torn, the lame and the sick. Is that what you call offering? Should He accept this from you? (This is the declaration of the Self-existent, the God of armies.)

Cursed be the deceiver who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices a useless thing to the Self-existent [the Holy Spirit] because I, the Self-existent, the God of armies, am a great King and My hand symbolName [Emissary]  - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit - is dreadful among foreign nationals.
