Philippians 1
WET VERSION
CHAPTER 1
PAUL and Timothy, servants of Jesus the Anointed: To all saints — those under Jesus the Anointed — in Philippi, including the overseers and ministers.
Grace and peace
be multiplied
to you from God, our Father and the Self-existent [the Son of man], Jesus the Anointed.
I always thank God [the Self-existent], whenever I remember you,
always praying with joy for all of you in all my prayers,
because of your partnership in the good news from the first day
I came across you
until now.
I am sure of this: The One [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion to the time Jesus the Anointed arrives.
It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, since you are all partakers of my grace — my imprisonment and the defense and establishment of the gospel.
God [the Self-existent] knows how I deeply miss all of you with the affection of Jesus the Anointed.
My prayer is that you will keep on growing in love, knowledge and understanding,
so that you may regard what is best for you — to be pure and blameless — as good, till Jesus the Anointed’s
arrival
, and
be full of the fruits of the uprightness that
comes
through Jesus the Anointed — so that God [the Self-existent] can be honored and praised.
Now, I want you to know, brethren, that what I went through has resulted in the advancement of the good news,
so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to everyone else, that I am in prison for Jesus the Anointed.
Most of the brethren under Jesus have gained confidence through my imprisonment and dare even more to preach the good news fearlessly.
Some, to be sure, preach Jesus the Anointed, out of envy and strife, but others, out of goodwill:
The former preach Jesus the Anointed, out of rivalry, not sincerely, seeking to add to the trauma of my imprisonment; the latter preach Him out of love, knowing that I was raised for the defense of the good news.
What does that matter? What is important to me is that Jesus the Anointed is preached — either out of false motives or true. This gives me joy, of course, and I will rejoice.
This is because I know this will lead to my being set free through your prayers and help from the Spirit [Emissary] of Jesus the Anointed – the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit.
My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that, now, as always, with all boldness, Jesus the Anointed will be highly honored
through
my body, whether while alive or after my life.
As for me, to be alive is for Jesus the Anointed, and to die is gain.
Only one thing: If I live in the flesh, this can make me see the fruit of my labor; yet, I don’t know which one to choose.
I am pressured by both: I have the desire to depart and be with Jesus the Anointed — which is far better
for me
— and I desire to remain in the flesh;
but, to remain in the flesh is more needed by you.
Since I am persuaded of the latter, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
so that, through my being with you again, your confidence may grow in Jesus the Anointed.
Just one thing: Let your life be consistent with the good news of Jesus the Anointed. Then, whether I come and see you or I am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, contending as a body, for the faith of the good news,
not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is evidence of their
ultimate
perdition, but of your
ultimate
deliverance. This is from God [the Self-existent],
because it has been given to you, not only to believe, but also, to suffer for Jesus the Anointed,
having the same struggle that you saw I had and now hear about me.
