CHAPTER 1

1

FROM Paul, a prisoner for Jesus the Anointed, and Timothy our brother: To Philemon our dear friend and coworker;

2

Apphia our sister; Archippus, our fellow soldier; and the church that meets in your home.

3

Grace and peace leftBracket symbol be multiplied rightBracket symbol to you, from God our Father and the Self-existent [the Son of man], Jesus the Anointed.

4

I always thank my God [the Self-existent] in my prayers for you,

5

having heard of your love and faith toward the Self-existent [the Son of man], Jesus, and for all the saints —

6

that, as you get to know every good leftBracket symbol endowment rightBracket symbol that is in you under Jesus the Anointed, you will be able to effectively make your faith known.

7

Your love has given us much joy and encouragement, brother, because your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of the saints.

8

For this reason, although I could be really bold under Jesus the Anointed to command as to what is right,

9

I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, an elderly man and now, also, a prisoner for Jesus the Anointed,

10

appeal to you for my child, whom I fathered while in prison – Onesimus.

11

He was, once, useless to you, but now, he is useful both to you and to me.

12

I am sending him — a part of myself – back to you. Please, accept him.

13

You have a powerful arm; Your hands are strong, Your right hand, a lifter.

14

but I do not want to do anything without your consent, so that your support should not be out of obligation, but of your own free will.

15

Perhaps he got separated from you for a moment, so that you might get him back permanently —

16

no longer as a slave, but, more than a slave — as a dearly loved brother. He is especially so to me, but even more to you, both genetically and as someone under the Self-existent, the Son of man.

17

So, if you consider me a partner, accept him as you would me.

18

If he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge that to my account.

19

I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it — not to mention to you that you owe me even your own self.

20

Brother, let me have joy of your being under the Self-existent, the Son of man; refresh my heart under the Self-existent, the Son of man.

21

It is because I am confident of your obedience that I am writing to you; I know that you will do even more than I say.

22

Also, prepare a guest room for me;  I hope that, through your prayers, I will be restored to you.

23

Epaphras, my fellow prisoner under Jesus the Anointed, greets you, and so do

24

Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke, my fellow workers.

The grace of our Sovereign Master, Jesus the Anointed, leftBracket symbol remain rightBracket symbol with your soul. (So be it.)
