CHAPTER 1

1

PAUL, a servant of Jesus the Anointed, appointed as an ambassador, assigned to the preaching of the good news of what God [the Self-existent] had

2

promised in the holy scriptures through His prophets,

3

that is, of His Son, Jesus the Anointed, our Sovereign Master, who came in the flesh through David’s lineage

4

and was made abundantly clear by God’s  power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead, made possible by handthe Spirit [power] leftBracket symbol enabling rightBracket symbol holiness - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit.

5

We have received favor to be ambassadors, to make all nations submit to the faith, on behalf of His Name [Emissary] - the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit -

6

including you, who are also called by Jesus the Anointed:

7

To all the beloved of God [the Self-existent] in Rome, handcalled saints: Grace leftBracket symbol be multiplied rightBracket symbol to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Self-existent [the Son of man], Jesus the Anointed.

8

First, I thank my God [the Self-existent] through Jesus the Anointed, for all of you because news of your faith is making the rounds in all the world.

9

God [the Self-existent], whom I serve with my mind in my assignment of leftBracket symbol spreading rightBracket symbol the good news about His Son [the Self-existent - the Son of man], is my witness that I constantly mention you,

10

asking, in my prayers, that if it is somehow in His will, I may, now at last, succeed in coming to you.

11

I desire so much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gifts to strengthen you,

12

that is, to be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith — yours and mine.

13

I want you to know, brothers, that I often planned to come to you (but was delayed until now) that I might have a fruitful ministry among you, as among other foreign nationals, because

14

I am obligated to spread the good news to both Greeks and non-Greeks - the wise and the foolish.

15

That is why I am eager to preach the good news to you, also, in Rome.

16

I am not ashamed of the good news about the Anointed, because it is God’s power to rescue everyone who believes from perdition – first, the Jew, and also, foreign nationals -

17

for in it, the uprightness that God [the Self-existent] demands is brought about as one grows in faith, just as it is written, “To be regarded as upright, faith is paramount.”

18

This is because God [the Self-existent] has unleashed His wrath from heaven against all ungodliness and wrong lifestyle of people who by their wrong lifestyle suppress the truth,

19

as what one needs to know about God [the Self-existent] is evident leftBracket symbol to them rightBracket symbol  because God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] has shown it to them.

20

No doubt, His invisible attributes — His eternal power and divine nature — have been seen since the creation of the world, being made known through what He made. As a result, they are without excuse;

21

because, despite their knowing God, they do not glorify Him as God or show appreciation. Instead, they think senselessly — their mischievous minds blurred.

22

Although they take themselves to be the wise, they are the fools;

23

they assume hand symbolthe Glory [Emissary] of the immortal God, to be images of mortals – men, birds, four-footed animals and reptiles.

24

Therefore, God left them to do the cravings of their hearts — sexual impurity — so that they degrade their bodies among themselves:

25

They take what is true about God as a lie; they worship and serve something created instead of the Creator, to whom praise is due forever. (So be it.)

26

For that, God gave them over to despicable passions, to the extent that their females exchange natural sexual intercourse for the unnatural,

27

their males, in the same way, abandon the natural sexual intercourse with females and are inflamed in their lust for one another, males committing shameless acts with males and receiving within their bodies the appropriate penalty of their perversion.

28

Also, because they do not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God [the Self-existent], God [the Self-existent - the Holy Spirit] left them to their nonsensical minds – to do what is morally wrong:

29

They are full of sinful lifestyles — sexual immorality, greed, wickedness, rancor, envy, murder, disputes, deceit and malice. They are gossips,

30

slanderers, God haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

31

undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, recalcitrant and unmerciful.

32

Although they know God’s judgment fully well – that those who practice such things deserve to die – they not only do them, they applaud those who do them.
