Zephaniah 1

CHAPTER 1

hand symbolThe word of the Self-existent [the Almighty] which came to Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

“I will utterly empty the land of living things,” this is the declaration of the Self-existent [the Almighty] that must come true or cannot be countermanded, “I will consume humans, beasts, fowls, fishes - and the idols of that ungodly one,” this is the declaration of the Self-existent [the Almighty] that must come true or cannot be countermanded,

“I will also deal with Judah and all the habitations of the city of the Peaceful One - Jerusalem; I will rid this place of Baal, the name of Cheramins with the priests,

all who worship demons on house tops, all who worship, and take oath by, the Self-existent [the Holy Spirit] and by Malcham at the same time,

all who have entirely turned their back against the Self-existent [the Holy Spirit], and all who have never sought the assistance of the Self-existent [the Holy Spirit] or worshiped Him.”

Therefore, keep quiet in front of hand symbolthe Sovereign God [the Self-existent, the Almighty]; the day of the leftBracket symbolfeastrightBracket symbol of the Self-existent [the Almighty] is at hand: He has prepared a feast and invited His guests.

In the day of the feast of the Self-existent [the Almighty], I, the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit, will punish rulers, the kings’ children, and as many as wear adulterous clothing.

At the same time, I will punish all who jump over the window, who fill their masters’ houses with unjust gain and deception.

“That time,” this is the declaration of the Self-existent [the Almighty] that must come true or cannot be countermanded, “I will cause a sound of crying from the Fish Gate, a howling from the other gate, and great crashing from the city.”

Howl, inhabitants of Maktesh [a district/town in or near the city of the Peaceful One - Jerusalem], because all merchants have been decimated; all silver marketers have been eliminated.

That time, I, the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit, will search the city of the Peaceful One - Jerusalem - with candles and punish those men who are complacent, saying in their hearts, “The Self-existent [the Almighty] will not do anything – good or bad.”

Their goods will be plundered and their houses demolished. They will build houses but not live in them, and they will plant vineyards but not drink the wine.

The great day of the feast of the Self-existent [the Almighty] leftBracket symbolisrightBracket symbol near, leftBracket symbolit isrightBracket symbol near, and running fast, with the thundering of the Self-existent [the Almighty]: leftBracket symbolevenrightBracket symbol warriors shall cry bitterly.

That day is a day of anger, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

and a day of trumpet and alarm against fortified cities and high  towers.

I [the Self-existent, the Holy Spirit] will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men because they have sinned against the Self-existent [the Almighty]. Also, their blood shall be poured out as dust and their flesh as dung.

Their silver and gold shall not be able to rescue them in the day of the anger of the Self-existent [the Almighty]; the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy: He shall make a speedy riddance of all those who dwell in the land.
